Step One: cleaning the spa cover
The first step of our hot tub drain and clean is to clean the cover. We remove any dirt and debris from the spa cover and then set it aside. The top of the hot tub cover is exposed to the elements and collects a dust and dirt buildup. We clean and wipe down the top of the cover with a vinyl protectant. The underside of the hot tub cover is then thoroughly cleaned and inspected. If we find issues such as mold, mildew or extensive damage we will recommend that the spa cover be replaced. We can also supply an estimate for a new spa cover.
Step Two: fully draining the hot tub
We then drain the water out completely using an industrial sump pump. The remaining water is taken out with a shop vacuum. Local codes that relate to the drainage of water is always adhered to. During our hot tub drain and clean the water will be properly emptied. We drain the water to wherever we need to in order to be compliant.
Step Three: Cleaning the spa surface
The next step of our hot tub drain and clean is the surface cleaning. We wipe down and scrub the entire spa shell surface including the sides, seats and benches. There will be proper flow when the filter is in good shape. We will recommend that the filter be replaced if it is not in good overall condition. The freshly cleaned spa filter or new filter is then installed.
Step Five: balancing the water chemistry after the spa is refilled
The final step of the ProTouch hot tub drain and clean is to balance the water chemistry. Close attention is paid to the pH, Total Alkalinity and chlorine or bromine levels. While we are putting away our equipment the spa circulation pump and booster pumps are turned on. After we finish putting away our equipment we retest the spa water making final adjustments as needed. The spa drain and clean is then complete.
