Even the standard weekly cleaning service is divided into several steps to ensure a high quality end result.
Our Weekly Swimming Pool Cleaning Process
 Scrubbing the swimming pool tile.
It is quite common for particles of dirt as well as oils to become deposited on swimming pool tile. Anything the skin leaves behind, such as residue from lotions and tanning products, floats on the top of the water and builds up on the tile. This buildup of dirt and oil must be removed in order to keep the tile clean and the water crystal clear. Scrubbing the swimming pool tile requires a sturdy pool tile brush and a specialized soap. Pool technicians scrub the tile surface to remove debris and other elements as the first step of our pool cleaning process.
Skimming the pool water surface to remove debris.
The next step of the pool cleaning process is to remove all leaves and other debris from the pool water surface. Technicians use a net to capture anything laying on top of the water when skimming the pool water surface. This prevents unwanted particles from getting to the center of the water, which can become difficult to remove later in the pool cleaning process.
Thoroughly vacuuming the swimming pool.
Next in our pool cleaning process, we thoroughly vacuum all surfaces of the pool. This includes any and all steps, benches and the entire bottom of the swimming pool. All of the fallen materials that have settled on the bottom of the pool are removed. Our pool technician brings the tools needed to clean the pool including the pole, hose and vacuum head. We use our own pool cleaning equipment to lessen the wear and tear on the pool owners cleaning equipment.
Balancing the pool water chemistry.
Testing and balancing the pool water is a major function of the ProTouch Pool Services pool cleaning process. The chlorine, pH, and alkalinity levels are checked on a weekly basis. The total hardness (TDS) of the water, as well as conditioner and phosphate levels are checked on a monthly basis. This allows us to understand the ongoing chemical needs of each specific pool. This important step helps our technicians to determine the best course of action to provide continually balanced water. We then add the appropriate amount of chemicals to make sure the pool is water is safe, clear and ready for use.
During our initial visit to the swimming pool we test the levels of the chemicals mentioned above. Certain chemistry levels can let us know that the water cannot be balanced properly. Increasing water hardness is an early sign that it may be time to complete a pool drain and restart. Conditioner stabilize chlorine and prevent UV rays from absorbing chlorine and other chemicals, rendering them ineffective. At an increased levels conditioner can also be detrimental to the pool surface.
Our Pool Cleaning Process Also Includes the Equipment
Emptying the pool skimmer and pump baskets.
The pool skimmer and pump baskets work together collecting much of the larger debris, like leaves and bugs, from the pool. The job of the skimmer is to collect these unwanted materials from the pool water surface. This prevents them from entering the plumbing system. The pump basket catches the vacuumed material and debris that has passed through the skimmer basket. As the final step of our pool cleaning process these baskets are emptied and cleaned.
We notify the pool owner of any issues or concerns.
At the completion of each pool cleaning service, the ProTouch technician will perform a cursory inspection. They will also give a final netting over the pool surface when needed. Our staff then visually inspects the equipment area. This includes the pool pumps, heater, and plumbing components. This proactive measure allows us to give customers the general condition of their pool and be notified of any needed maintenance or repairs. It is also helpful to determine when pool filter cleans Newwebax2018$@$are necessary. We also backwash the pool filter (for sand and D.E. filters) between filter cleans when required.
